Weddings are once in a lifetime, and I love them! Every time we go to one, it reminds me of how much I love Ryan, how much fun it is to be married to him, and how satisfied I am with my choice in husband--even seven years later.
Our friends Eric and Janie recently got hitched, and when they told our group of friends that they were doing a small family wedding in Florida, we were respectfully disappointed. :) How could we not celebrate such an awesome couple? Eric's been a groomsman like a million times (including our wedding), and so the guys decided that they couldn't just stand by and not honor him as he's done over and over for them. We inquired if they'd be open to us hosting a post-wedding party, and they agreed...and we got to work!
The Shove family loves a good party, and never one to miss an opportunity to "make things beautiful" (pretty much my goal in life), we decided to go all-in. Somewhere along the way a "shower" turned into a "reception" (I mean, what did the guys think when they agreed to let me help out?!?), and with a lot of group effort (special shout out to all of the Nolans and the Ragones), Sunday night we celebrated the newlyweds down-home style: buffet barbecue, s'mores by the fire pit, corn hole in the backyard, and self-serve kegs--all with a bit of wedding decor to set the mood! We mingled, stuffed our faces (mmm...Nicole Lane's banana pudding will haunt my dreams for-ev-er), played games, and celebrated Eric and Janie to the fullest. We love them and can't wait to see what God has in store for their life as a married couple. Congrats, Halversons!
Here's a few pics of how it went. Enjoy!
